About This Software Desktop Mascot Engine allows you to have a character mascot live on your desktop and interact with it in real-time and have it respond to your interactions. If you remember those old Stick-Fight videos on youtube, where the stick-man's were fighting on Windows Desktop, thats pretty much how the character/mascot looks on your desktop. Think of it as a living Game/Anime/3D-Model Character that overlaps over Windows and other apps. For now we are adding diverse variety character models as mascots with some animations to allow you to relax/fiddle with the mascots to distract yourself from stress and stuff. ==================== This is the early access build. Interaction/Control is only possible directly when clicking (left mouse button) on the character/mascot. 1. To change the characters, press and hold mouse button 1 (left click) on the character and press left or right key to toggle through the initially available 4 characters. 2. To change the animation state of character, just left mouse click on the character itself. Animation change is random and sometimes its possible same animation plays, if so, left click again to change to different animation. 3. To change the mascot size, left click on mascot and use mouse scroll wheel to increase or decrease size. ======================= ~~Coming Soon: The AI Assistant~~ ======================= Further down the road, we will be adding AI to it to make it a semi-assistant to perform tasks for a variety of pre-defined things. We will be adding character packs of different themes/genres which will allow you a list of things via voice or input command like a Ai assistant would. We are looking for more suggestions and input related and unrelated to the AI/Assistant part, what you would like the mascot/character to do, what features you would expect and what particular characters/genres you would like ? This piece of software has the same poetential to grow in populairty like that of Wallpaper Engine. The developer seems pretty enthusiastic with support and and updates in the short time Desktop Mascot Engine has been available. I look forward to seeing all the user generated content in the Workshop.. Just fun to use but its kind of useless.. Good app!Could be better by adding a community workshop so we can add custom models also some of the current models are pixelated.However, The app is good and works fine. Good to play with when your doing absolutely nothing. xD6/10. Dev is very slow in improving this application, doesn't have enough characters not even workshop charas gets added in when I sub.. I bought this so I could support it until it gets A.I, cause that sounds really cool. If your ok with buying an incomplete product then I would go for it. It's only $2 anyways.. it kinda stopped working and it messes up your desktop. was a kinda cool idea but it appears the devs have left. Love the software and the idea - some improvements (also note I am a QA manager by trade):1) Similar to the dragon, all changes to animations should be seamless i.e. the tiger can go from one to another but it almost stutters as there is not a smooth transition. This does happen on some of the dragon animations too when switching. Affects all animations but dragons the least.2) Would be good to have a mode where it constatly changes - some figures i.e. tiger gets stuck on standing still - only the dragon changes consistently.3) Would be good to have a 'rare' annimation where each animation can jump around the screen i.e. from one side to the other. Would provide some fun. Or if this is not achieveable, at least moving some distance (half a screen, width/height) instead of being stuck in the same location. 4) Would be good to have more than one figure on the screen at one time.5) Expanding on 4, having reactions between multiple figures on screen, i.e. dragons can combine moves and fly in the sky together.6) Mecha figures animations are pretty dull7) Expanding on 2) would be good to have a 'Single' animation mode, where it doesn't rotate between animations.8) Animations not repeating same one9) Ideas for figures:- More anime- Faeries- Small cat- Pug dog- Stick manGreat idea, lots to improve on :) v1.1.0 : French Localization (+ Mac and Linux!): Hi!Before starting to talk about this new version, thank you so much for the 95+% of positive reviews.
